Trump: Iran Is in a Very Bad Situation and I Don’t Know Whether It Will Surrender

Al-Taj News – U.S. President Donald Trump said Tuesday that he does not know whether Iran “will surrender yet” in its war with the United States, but indicated that Iran’s situation is “very bad.”

Iran has stood by its conditions for reopening the Strait of Hormuz, despite Trump rejecting an Iranian proposal to reopen the waterway and halt the fighting, while Tehran awaits the final U.S. position through mediators.

Last week, during the meetings of the United Nations General Assembly in New York, Iran put forward a proposal that included reopening the strait within 7 days and halting the fighting, to be followed by broader negotiations on agreed-upon issues, including the nuclear file.

Iran announced that it had informed the United States of 7 conditions for starting negotiations, amid an Israeli escalation toward Tehran, at a time when military and diplomatic options are intersecting over the future of the confrontation and the nuclear file.
